Adventist University of the Philippines, Academic Emphasis Day September 11, 2015

It was a bright sunny day, the most awaited Academic Emphasis Day held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Philippine International Church inside Adventist University of the Philippines' campus. The program started with the Processional. Fan fave and processional on the Church  one's foundation rendered by the AUP Orchestra. and then the marching of new students, graduate students, and undergraduate students started to enter Philippine International Church in this order.

          The faculty and staff also followed the marching in that sequence also, and the Academic Chairs and Directors, College Deans  and the directors and the rest of the Administration. and next is the entrance of International Flags consists of 53 countries all around the world. The entrance of colors and the Master Guides.


          Adventist University of the Philippines sang the National Anthem of the Philippines "Lupang Hinirang" was sang by the whole congregation and the Invocation was lead to us Pastor Abel B. Vergara, the Director Spiritual Development. And the Welcome Remarks rendered by our beloved University President, Dr. Francisco D. Gayoba. He warmly welcomed the students to AUP Life and he's hoping that after few more years from now students will then graduate. He wants students to develop the spirit of service and success as the years pass by.

          Another musical rendition by AUP Faculty Ensemble. and Dr. Miriam P. Narbarte the Vice President for Academics started to report the achievements of AUP for the last years.
Philosophy, Mission, and Vision of Dr. Miriam Narbarte is that AUP should be the training ground of discipline and God-centered people. She describe AUP and started to report the achievements of AUP

          The Accountancy Department International Certified Bookkeepers, Registered Cost  Accountant in Australia, Accounting Department- International Quiz Shows also in Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory students won the national quiz for MedTech, Nursing Program National Care-giving by the College of Nursing, the Department of Fine Arts won the Shell, Petron, MetroBank, PH Tatter, National Kidney, National Art Competition, AUP also awarded as the Pioneer School of Medical Technology, the Development Communication Department was awaded by the Gandingan Awards, and Outstanding Foreign Students.

          The Introduction of the Speaker was rendered by Dr. Vicky C. Mergal the Assistant Vice President for Academics Graduate Studies. Dr. Jose Maria P. Balmaceda Dean of Math, University of the Philippines- Diliman; Dean College of Science delivered the short but very inspirational, simple message. First he introduced himself and delivered his message. According to him Teaching is not a prefession but a calling, knowing and thinking, concepts and principles for a better world to live in, critical thinking skills. He said, Intelligence is nothing if you don't have concern, it is not what you get in life it is how you live. We should be open minded, help others, be understanding, embrace diversity, never fail to thank God for your blessings, and always be humble and thankful.
After he speaks Mr. Ruben Carpizo the Director of Accreditation Office, gave the certificate of appreciation to Dr. Balmaceda to be the speaker of the program.
